Welcome to TDM Amazon

Flying in the Amazon since 4-5-98

TDM Cessna Caravan taking off from Eduardo Gomes Int'l Airport in Manaus, Brazil

TDM, a branch of TradeWind Caribbean Airlines, has many dedicated pilots who love challenges: dirt runways, airports without ILS, huge areas without navaids, and the unpredictable tropical weather of the region. We are used to these challenges. :-) Now, we have the option to fly our  Shorts 330s, Cessna Caravans and Pilatus PC-12s in the Rain Forest and the Northern Region of Brazil.

Sights from Amazonas: Ianomami Indian, Amazon Forrest and the Negro River.
Because of the Rain Forest, the Northern Region of Brazil is one of the least-populated places in the world. Extensive areas of the forest (see the picture above) and the huge distances make colonization of the region almost impossible. The area has dozens of Indians Reserves and National Parks, many of them larger than some European countries. Because of its unique features, the use of the airplanes and float planes (see below) to carry food, medicine and goods to isolated places is a must.

Carajás Airport. Don't expect the same services of this airport for the most of the TDM Amazon Sector routes:-) The airports were carefully designed to approximate their real-world conterparts, so all the trees that you will see in the airports are really there in the real world!

Routes
There is currently 40 flights to 35 cities in 7 States. With your feedback, as the time permits I will add more routes for TDM Amazon. All of the lines begins from our main airports in the morning and finish in a major airport in the afternoon. because it is not safe to fly in the Amazon during at night. You will make several stops along the route in small aerodromes only TDM reaches with its brave pilots:-)

Criticisms, suggestions or comments are welcome!
